Marie Greaves (Taylor)

1954 ~ 2013 Marie Greaves Taylor, 58, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her Cottonwood Heights home on January 15th, 2013. She had spent the previous nine years courageously fighting a brain tumor. During that time, she finished her work on this earth.
Marie is survived by her loving husband, Kim, of 37 years; her sons Brad (Tricia), Spencer (Jamie), Blake (Morgan), and Steven; her parents Theodore and May Greaves; her five brothers and one sister, and five tender grandchildren: Jacob, Jocelyn, Ethan, Grant, and Violet, to whom Marie was known as "Maga Marie." She now has the privilege of meeting her sixth grandchild, Peyton Marie, whose time on earth will soon begin. Marie was born on December 22nd, 1954 in Salt Lake City. She graduated from Olympus High School in 1973, where she was named Homecoming Queen. Her sweet, humble spirit conquered everyone she met.  Marie emulated the Savior in everything she did, including how she raised her boys. She set clear examples of integrity, kindness, faith in Jesus Christ, bravery, virtue, and continuing education. Because of Marie, her boys knew what to look for in a spouse.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Brighton Point LDS Chapel on 3455 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT. A viewing will be held at the church Friday night from 6 - 9 p.m., and Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

I was desperately in love with Marie Greaves during high school.  She was always kind to me, and went out of her way to speak to me. She loved our jazz band, and would stay behind at the end of school meetings in the auditorium to hear us play. A more graceful person has never lived, and I was truly blessed to be a person on whom she poured out her care.
