Richards McDonald

Frank Richards McDonald
"Richards"
Richards grew up in Holladay, Utah and served an LDS mission in Japan. At the U of U, he received a Master's in business with International Relations, an Honors degree in History, and spent summers in school at Cambridge, England, and at Harvard, Massachusetts, where he met his wife.
Richards, whose passion was his career, was a world traveler and had a longing for discovery like his ancestor Dr. David Livingston, who first explored Africa, and from other ancestors who sailed the Mayflower in 1633.
Richards was a great-great-grandson of President John Taylor and Dr. Willard Richards, Mormon pioneers, who lived their faith.
Richards was a scholar and a gentleman. He was kind and thoughtful and was a man of character, wisdom, and integrity.
He is survived by his father, sister, wife, and an estranged half-sister, who lives out of town.
Funeral services will be held at the Crystal Heights Ward, 1970 East Stratford Ave (2600 So.), Saturday April 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm. A viewing will be at 1:00 pm at the Ward. Friends may send acknowledgments to P.O. Box 17183 SLC, UT 84117.

Richards and I grew up in the same ward and scout troop! We went to each others birthday parties and had a great relationship all through our growing up years! I saw him last at the 40 year reunion and he was still a happy, kind man who seemed humble, interested, and thoughful. I was saddened to hear he passed away. I'm sure that God has a place for him as he always seemed to have many Christ like qualities. May God be with his family and friends at this time.  Denny Wagstaff

Richards was in many of my classes at Olympus.  He was always very nice and smart and a little quite but an all around great guy. My prayers go out to his wife and family.

Richards was a wonderful person.  We were debate partners during our junior year.  We didn't win that many but had a geat time together.  He was a very intelligent and creative person with a wonderful and off-center sense of humor.  I really enjoyed him in the history courses we took together.  He was one of the kindest people at Olympus.  High School can be a difficult as well as wonderful time.  It was wonderful to know a person like Richards who you could always trust to be kind.  I haven't seen him for over 20 years.  I think he said he was living in Japan last time I spoke with him.  He is one of those people I very thankful to have known.  He was probably that way for everyone who ever knew him.
